Edward Abbey&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Good news!! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;It seems as though the Health Care Bill may have difficulty advancing. I expect it will pass, eventually, at least some form of the bill. If the Public Option gets defeated however that would be a very positive point especially after the &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;DNC&lt;/span&gt; leaders on the Hill want it so much. It would be a sound defeat of the socialist's pushing this "reform" so hard. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;One major issue is Senate Democrat's hate Congress's plan to pay for health care and Congressional Democrat's don't like Senate's plan. Either way taxes are raised. If Senate waters down the Abortion language in the bill &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;Pelosi&lt;/span&gt; could lose at least ten votes if not more "blue dog" Democrats. The Senate version of the bill also cuts $300 billion in Medicare. Many &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;Progressive's&lt;/span&gt; on Capitol Hill are upset with the White Houses deal with Drug-Makers and they want to force drug manufacturer's to sell the government drugs for discounts. &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;Obama's&lt;/span&gt; campaign promise that health care reform would not add to the deficit is also obviously out the window. Forty Democrats say they will not vote for the bill if the current language stays as harsh on the Government not paying for abortion so once again it's really a lose lose for &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;Pelosi&lt;/span&gt; in Congress. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Regardless there are other things in the bill that I'm not even going to talk about, other issues where Democratic infighting is going to distract and divide. Meanwhile Republicans, presenting a unified front pointing out tax hikes, and high cost of the program are slowly chipping away at the fringes.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Overall debate is going to be heated and probably take a while. Meaning we, in all likelihood will not see a bill get passed until the spring. The longer it takes Democrats to vote on the issue the longer I think the idea of the bill will sour with the American people. Unfortunately for Democrats if this bill comes out, and isn't good it will not reflect well on Obama especially considering he is now looking at unemployment in the double digits. His time spent in the Treasury Department, his time with the Federal Reserve, and the manner in which he has handled the Stimulus money, allowing it to be misused and insuring his friends on Wall Street got "bailed out, all fall back on Obama's shoulder's and Campaign promises to end business as usual and bring "Change" to Washington.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;The fact that Obama has failed to bring any substance of true change to Washington was easy to predict and those of us in the third party scene are now confident there is a growing dissatisfaction among the American People to see an end to the two party system.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Geithner is the perfect example of the double standards, and hypocritical actions of the Republicans and Democrats. Geithner failed to pay Social Security Taxes or Medicare taxes while working at the IMF and also employed an immigrant worker who didn't have a green card. Of course if I don't pay Social Security taxes based on the belief that Social Security is Unconstitutional and that the government has spent all the money in Social Security I will go to jail and be made by the mainstream media and our "justice" system to be a "radical" maybe hear the word "free thinker". Mr. Geithner is apparently a victim of not understanding the tax code, he find's himself in good company considering no one really understands the legal jargon contained in the hundreds of thousands of pages that is the IRS tax code.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;What I really wanted to focus on today is that recently Congressmen have asked Geithner to resign due to the poor handling of the Stimulus, Bailout, and TARP funds. Geithner testifying before the Joint Economic Committee said Thursday that the governments $700 billion bailout program will end "as soon as we can". Well that's comforting as soon as the Federal Reserve decides that the businesses are "saved" from their own stupid mistakes they'll stop sending them our tax dollars. I feel relieved that there's a timeline on the Bailout.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Geithner continued his fact less tirade saying the Economy is better now than it was in 2008 under Republican leadership and with the aide of TARP. Of course there's no real economic numbers to back up this claim. Also Geithner like a good statist and Federal Reservist is pushing for even more Government oversight and regulation over private companies.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Gaithner also told the Committee that he plans to use part of the $350 billion remaining from the TARP funds to pay off the national debt. At first glance this seem's to be a very good thing. Instead of bailing out businesses we should have let fail, we'll pay off the Debt the problem is however that the $700 billion Bailout money was &lt;em&gt;borrowed&lt;/em&gt; the government didn't have surplus money from Bush's first 7 years laying around. This all goes back to how uneducated the Congress really is. Basically we are at the point where we are using &lt;em&gt;borrowed&lt;/em&gt; money to try and pay off our debt. Ron Paul's House Resolution 1207 passed the House Financial Services Committee. A first step toward seeing the Federal Reserve be audited and eventually ending the disaster that has been our Central Bank. Since it's inception in 1913 the Government has been engaged in perpetual warfare; WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, Bosnia,in Iraq twice, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and soon I'm sure Obama and his war cronies will jump at the chance to invade Iran. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Of course our dear friends over at the DNC would say their all for peace but they wage a war, just as easily as dangerous as traditional war, in the form of economic sanctions, trade embargo's, and allowing the people of the country deserving of their wrath to suffer. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;The Federal Reserve is a private and foriegn intrest owned bank since it's inception. Why the Congress was ever foolish enough to believe that it would solve our econmic problems is beyond reason. Here we stand today approaching 100 years of the Fed completely controlling our Currency, Intrest Rates, and Inflation policy and we have been through more recession's, depressions, and dollar devalue's than anytime previous to 1913. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;We have always as a nation had times of recession but before 1913 these recessions were always shorter. Between 1887-1913 the average recession lasted 10.3 months. There have been three recessions since 1973 that have lasted longer than 16 months! The Federal Government operating on the advice of the Federal Reserve (remember private banking entities) drew out the Great Depression until the early 40's. (A closer economic study show's our system has never really recovered from the Depression of the 30's thanks to Government Intervention.) The boom cycle that Clinton enjoyed while President was a false boom created by bad banking investments, and borrowing on credit, that the consumer did not have enough collateral or any chance to pay down. Of course the banks have nothing to worry about neither did Fanny or Freddie Mac! In the case of the former their buddies at the Fed would use their power to sway Congress into bailing out the banks, and obvioulsy the Federal Government wouldn't allow Freddie and Fanny to fail. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Meanwhile Obama, Progressives, Leftist, and Socialist were quick to immediatley demand more Government intervention because this latest econmic recession was a clear cut case of the Markets not regulation themselves. Well I'm not sure what kind of fairyland or magical land of Communist Fascism these guys were talking about. The Recession of 2008-? is not an example of the Free Market (or Capitalism) failing but rather the exact opposite. It's the greatest example of how Socialism and Fascism fail. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Free Market's would not have bailed out banks that gave out bad mortgages, or auto makers who ran their company into the ground. Since 1913 however and even more specifically since the 1930's the Fed's and Federal Government have been bailing out companies. In a Free Market the recession we currently find ourselves in would never have happened because the banks would not have made risky loans without the Fed's there to bail them out! The reason the banks made risky bad loan decisions was they really don't have to fear failing, they are to "important" to Obama and the Republicans in power to allow failure. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;This brings another question why would these banks want the government to own a stake in their company? The answer is simple the Fed's own the Monetary system. If you own the monetary system you own the Government. So what do they have to fear it's just one big circular pattern.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;One last example of the Government operating in the Markets and falling flat on their face is the Amtrak debacle. For those of you who don't know Amtrak is a Government owned and operated Corporation. There a quite a few private, Market ran railroads who operate quite successfully, that is profitably. Yet in October 2008 the Congress, Senate, and President Bush voted to give Amtrak 2.6 Billion a year of your money even though passenger traffic was up 12.6% from the previous year. Amtrak is not free to ride in fact it's usually failry expensive and on top of that the Government takes 2.6 Billion of your hard earned money to prop up Amtrak? That's a great example of what happens when Government get's involved in the "private" sector and put's it's greedy power mongering hand into the Markets, it fails without hesitation every time.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;The power of idea's and principles that is the foundation of the END THE FED movement is powerful and fact driven. Even today in our sheep like following of the National media- Fox, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, people are realizing that the principles espoused by our movement is not only fact based but Reason driven. There are many violations of Seperation of Church and State here. In Lexington County where I now work there are several laws in violation of the Seperation clause. I can't help but ask myself where is the ACLU?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;In Lexington county only gas stations, restuarants, and grocery stores are allowed to be open on Sundays before 1:30pm. I am against this law because in no way is it a proper Seperation of Church and State. The only reason this law exists is to encourage Church attendence which is in no way what government is supposed to do. For this reason I don't think it's even debatable that this law is not vaible in the eyes of the Seperation clause. Are churches in so much trouble that they must use government to keep people from shopping or having alternatives apart from Church Services? This law is hypocritical, just a laughable excuse at saving face. I work at Target in Lexington SC and I go in every other Sunday at 6 a.m. just like every other day. If your going to make a law aimed at raising church attendence and forcing people to observe a religious "holy" day then at least don't allow companies (you keep from opening) to have employees still work.  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;The Government is not supposed to endorse any one religion. America is the greatest nation because we have always valued personal liberty, individualism, gun rights, free markets, and the freedom of religion. Forcing people to oberserve a certain religions "day of rest" is not government neutrality. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;The other law I wanted to address is the ban on the sale of alcohol. As most of you know I absolutely abhor government abuse of power, and usurping the power of individuals to make free choices. God created man to have free will and yet these two laws, because of their goal to enforce morality, actually force the citizens, and businesses of these states to be moral. No where is that in your Constitution. The reason I feel so passionatly on this issue is many times it seems I attack the political "left" of this country so I wanted to take this oppurtunity to show that the political "right" especially evangelical Christians can also use the Government to abuse other people's rights. In fact the evangelical Christian voter bloc is the number one 'caucus' in this country that tries to use the government to bully other individuals. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;I find it sadly hilarious when certain Christians get upset in this country that the Homosexual community, or some other group they disagree with tries to use the government in the same manner they have, that is to say a bully pulpit. "Government is to make no law regarding the establishment of religion" Amendment number 1 of your Federal Constitution. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;The government is necessary for only one reason! To protect individuals from aggression and stop anyone else from violating anothers Civil Liberties. Instead of that, in America we have a government that does the exact opposite, opting rather to be a moral compass.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet It's hard to even keep up with how much money our government is spending. The government already voted for a $700-$850 billion dollar bailout. It looks like in the end they will pump a $25 billion dollar loan into the auto industry, and we may be in for another $800 billion dollar bailout with Obama wanting another $500 billion dollar bailout in stimulus for taxpayers. Ok guys, if you do the addition that's $2.1 trillion dollars. When Bush took office, the debt was about $5 trillion, it was going to be around $9-10 trillion after Bush's failed "war on terror" but by the middle of 2009 it looks like the national debt will be around the $12-13 trillion mark. I included a link from CNN below so you can see the confusing breakdown of money spent so far.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;The economy is going to struggle in Obama's first term because he is proposing many of the same failed idea's that FDR proposed in his New Deal. Obama and the media refuse to understand that the governments revenues goes up when Capital Gains tax is lowered, and if a cut in government spending is coupled with lowered taxes the economy will reap great benefits. Obama also refuses to believe that redistribution of wealth is a Socialist prinicple. And this guy is supposed to be the savior of America? Geithner is the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Geithner is a known face at the Treasury Department. He went to work for the Department in 1999 in the internal affairs division. He was promoted to Under Secretary of the Treasurer before leaving the Department in late 2001. After leaving the Department he went and joined the Council on Foriegn Relations, a well known and much criticized Organization dedicated to bringing the world together on a variety of issues. This is not change in fact it will only bring the Federal Reserve and Treasury Department together. Religious philosophy is how we determine how we will live. It dictates to us whether we believe in an Afterlife, or if we don't believe in the Supernatural. It dictates how we determine to become a better person or live life to the fullest. I am grandstanding yes but I'm trying to make a point Religion is powerful. I'm thankful to be raised in a Christian Home. I hope we all take the time to appreciate our Religion, study, and determine to become better people. As a Christian I love to meet people of other skin color, nationality, language, and even religion. It's especially awe inspiring to see someone from India, Japan, or Rwanda, who is a follower of Jesus Christ. It's human nature to look at someone and immediately pick out the differences between ourselves and others; we do this to those in our own race, so why should a different race be any different. The awesome thing about Religion, it unites and immediately encourages us to look past physical differences or any difference for that matter. Because I immediately see a fellow brother or sister in Christ! We are both followers of Christ! True biblical Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and all the other religions is to encourage seeing fellow humanity as friends and family. This might open a debate because to a certain degree religion can divide, but it can open incredible dialogue's between religious philosophies. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Libertarianism as a Political Philosophy and Ideology encourage Individualism, and stresses that every man deserves civil liberty! Libertarianism doesn't view a person as black, red, or white but rather as an Individual who deserves their Liberty and Freedom. It's the only Political Theory of government in the US that doesn't divide or turn People against People. It doesn't view government as a way to coercively enforce religious, racial, or national belief systems on others. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;Religion and Libertarianism is my solution to solve discrimination. We are breaking barriers, and seeing old walls crumble more today than ever. I don't think we will ever truely unite in this country until we embrace a Libertarian Political philosophy, and we understand the Bible{or your particular text}. God created us all equal and we all have a common ancestor isn't it time we accept each other as humans and move on? It was easy for Washington to decide to throw $700 billion {actually more like $850 billion} to the wind, but now we're fighting over a measly $25 billion. Something to consider is that Washington {politicians} want to see a "business plan" for success from the automakers. There are two things here that are funny or just downright stupid. First, why should we believe the Politicians will know what a "successful" business plan is. Remember these guys can't even run our government, and why should I trust them to know what a "successful" business plan is? Second, they didn't ask the banks for a business plan to ensure that the banks are set to be "successful" in the future. So why are they descriminating against the auto makers? My theory is that we all know the banking cartel in this country, headed by the Federal Reserve, is broken. The Fed knows this and they continually lie to Washington. The only plan to get the banking industry back on track is to abolish the Federal Reserve and return to the gold standard. So of course, Washington didn't want to open that can of worms. The antithesis to this argument is that even if Obama carries through with his campaign promises, (even if he reaches across the "divide" and governs from the center) his presidency will not be a good thing for this country. Obama does have a chance to be a better President than George Bush, but considering the things that Bush has done over the last eight years, this task is not that daunting. I can confidently say that Obama's presidency is going to be bad for this country simply based on the policies that he advocates. His economic policies are socialist, his foreign policy is just slightly less aggressive than Bush's, and he champions big government. He voted for FISA, has not made any indication that he will not repeal the Patriot Act. He want's to end the war in Iraq, but vows to continue the war in Afghanistan and even strengthen troop numbers there. So everthing about the peace pillar of the Obama campaign is all smoke and mirrors. He still wants to police the world! Another major campaign pillar for Obama was that he was a Washington outsider. From the early indicators though he appears poised to surround himself with long time Washington insiders. Isn't this politics as usual? Is this the change Americans are longing for? Is Obama truely the savior people are looking for? We have all heard his speech "there is no red America, no blue America, there is only the United States of America!" This statement sounds good. There is a small problem however. . . Obama doesn't believe in a red or blue America, but he does believe in a "middle class" America and a "wealthy" America. He is adamant that those Americans making more than $250,000 have a &lt;em&gt;"Patriotic duty"&lt;/em&gt; to pay more in taxes. He claims he will "ask" them to pay a little more. Mr. Obama when you phrase it that way it seems that your not going to force them to pay it. Is your tax plan optional? His tax plan divides this country more than any other tax plan this country has seen. The claim that Obama can unite this country is laughable at best and pathetic at worst. I honestly believe that the Libertarian Party was trying to elect a Candidate that they felt would make some serious noise in this election. Bob Barr is a conservative, states rights, little 'l' Libertarian. That choice in theory really reaches out to the conservative base of the Republican party that felt betrayed by John McCain getting the nomination. I think that Barr was a good choice in this election because he is really the only viable Liberty defending Candidate for President. I guess this will be one of my last posts on Barr before Nov. 4th. I only hope we can take 5% of the national vote. Barr will defend our Bill of Rights, will shrink the Federal budget, end the IRS, end the Fed Reserve, will lower taxes, and help start paying off the national debt. America he is our only choice. McCain accuses Obama of Socialism, yet McCain voted for the $700 Billion bailout and he also supportes the Federal government buying of bad mortgages. McCain didn't speak out against the US governments buying into the US banking industry. McCain may not represent the obvious form of socialism but he still represents bigger government, more spending, and above all supports the failed foriegn policy that has lead to the major blowback that has resulted in the US being one of the most hated countries in the world. McCain still wants to send peace keeping troops to Georgia. Conservatives point to Obama's short time in office and claim he doesn't have enough experience or knowledge to be President. Liberals fire back that Palin also has little experience considering she was only governor for 2 years of Alaska. So both sides have little experience. Both underlying supporters of the campaigns attack the other sides lack of experience. My question has to do with what experience is needed?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I feel experience is not needed to be President. Leadership, courage, strength to stand on what you believe in, is what is needed to be President. I know a couple people who could be President that have never served in office. A great candidate would be Stan Jones. If one has sound principals: small government, keep governement in Constitutional limits, physically conservative, defend civil liberties, non-interventionist foriegn policy, free markets, and Capitalism then you have the ingredients for successful government. One also needs a backbone and strength of character to stick to these principals once elected. I see many in Washington that have the "experience" the two sides throw out as a condition of the Presidency yet these "experienced" politicians voted for a $800+ Billion dollar bailout, these "experienced" lunatics sit idly by while the Government nationalizes the US banking industry! Is that the kind of experience we need? The results were not encouraging on the Libertarian front. The Conservatives did manage to hold on to their majority in the Parliament. I think the best news in the election is that the NDP only won 37 seats. The NDP is the completely Socialist party of Canada. The Conservative Party won 144 seats, taking the slim majority. The Liberals took 74 seats, the Bloq Quebecois won 50 seats, with 3 seats falling under the "other" category. The Libertarian Political movement is significant because Libertarian voters and party members also embrace the Libertarian ideology. I hope in the future we will see a great colaboration among the world's Libertarian Parties. Because Libertarianism is an ideology not just a political platform. This country has officially entered into corporatism, which is not good. It's a definite sign we are heading towards socialism/fascism. America as we know it is changing and not for the better. 90% of Americans think this country is heading in the wrong direction. I'm sick of saying this but Obama and McCain have no answers, no solutions. This latest move on the part of the Bush administration, and the Feds is going to damn this country! Remeber we are 9 trillion in debt and the last 6 months we have spent nearly 1.5 trillion to "bailout" the economy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The one other thing I want to address is what happened to Freedom of business in country? What happened to America? The core value of freedom in business is that one has freedom. Freedom to become the next Microsoft or freedom to fall flat on one's face. Lets review a few act passed in Congress over the last 5 years that closely resemble Nazi police state laws. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;HR 3162&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;. -"Patriot Act"&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;"&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Patriot Act 2&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;" - A renewel and extension of powers granted the Federal government by original Patriot Act.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;FISA&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;.- Allows domestic wiretapping and surveillance without probable cause.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;John Warner Defense Authorization Act&lt;/em&gt;-&lt;/strong&gt; Allows President to declare a public emergency anywhere in America and establish martial law without the consent of the govenor or local authorities to "suppress public disorder".&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Homegrown Terrorism and Radicalization Act&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;- Passed overwhelmingly by Congress on October 23, 2007, is now awaiting a Senate vote. This act will beget a new crackdown on dissent and the Constitutional rights of American citizens. The definitions of “terrorism” and “extremism” are so vague that they could be used to generalize against any group that is working against the policies of the Administration. In this bill, “violent radicalization” criminalizes thought and ideology while “homegrown terrorism” is defined as “the planed use of force to coerce the government.” The term, “force” could encompass political activities such as protests, marches, or any other form of non-violent resistance. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Military Commissions Act of 2006&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;- Ends habeas corpus, the right to an attorney, and the right to court review of one’s detention and arrest. Without this most basic right, all other rights are gone too since anyone can be detained indefinitely. Now anyone may be arrested and incarcerated and nobody would know&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;NSPD 51&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;- A directive signed by George W. Bush on May 9, 2007, that allows the President to declare martial law, effectively transforming the U.S. into a dictatorship with no checks and balances from the Legislative or Judicial Branches. Parts of this directive are considered classified and members of Congress have been denied the right to review it&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The US has two major political parties: The Republicans= Fascist&lt;/span&gt; &lt;a href="http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm111/gamecoc1988/?action=view&amp;amp;current=smell_.jpg" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img alt="Photobucket" src="http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm111/gamecoc1988/smell_.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;and the Democrats=Socialist;Marxist&lt;/span&gt; &lt;a href="http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm111/gamecoc1988/?action=view&amp;amp;current=obamanism.jpg" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img alt="Photobucket" src="http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm111/gamecoc1988/obamanism.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Between the mixture the US has become the Empirical Socialist Democratic Polic State of the World. We have the worst of both worlds. Big Brother is everywhere and we will only see him get stronger the next 8 years. I for one no longer want to be considered a citizen of this government or Empire.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What I suggest we do is follow the same steps the Irish did to gain their independence.... "We the People" declare ourselves independent, a Libertarian Republic, a government ruled by strict laws via a Constitution, a nation where civil liberties above all else is the sole concern of the population. Low taxes, nationalist yet opposed to Empire fascism, but also opposed to the New World Order.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;The US Constitution in Article IV. Sec. 4 states the US is a Republic not a Democracy as the ignorant politicians of today claim. This form of government is where we need to return. Probably not since the last Presidential election have we seen so little substance actually debated by the candidates. McCain and Obama have shown themselves to be completely unable to lead a country during a crisis. Sorry John suspending your campaign for a couple of days while you return to Washington and sit on your ass doesn't count. True leadership in a crisis like the one we are still facing would mean that each candidate actually write their own bill and try and establish a way to lead the country out of the mess we're in. Rather McCain and Obama both decided to completely follow Henry Paulson and Bernanke's plan to &lt;em&gt;create&lt;/em&gt; $700 billion dollars and "save" the banks that are in trouble. When a Second Amendment question is asked to the candidates Obama sounds almost as strong as McCain. Either John McCain isn't for Second Amendment rights or he cannot bring himself to take a position of leadership on the issue. The same goes just as strong for Obama. These men are so concerned with getting elected they have forgotten the job their vying for is to LEAD. The American people have not forgotten that this is the Presidents job. Why have the politicians in Washington? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) was formed in 1987 to guarantee that every Presidential election would have at least one debate between the candidates. The problem lies in the fact the CPD is ran by former and current Republicans and Democrats. The CPD is not in the least interested in allowing the American people to make an informed decision in the election cycle but rather ensure they remain entrenched in the same two party system that they themselves belong to. The one time the CPD did allow a third party candidate into the debates in 1992, Ross Perot took 20% of the Popular vote and caused the election to swing to Bill Clinton. Since seeing the success of the third party candidates especially if allowed to debate the CPD has since set the bar so high it's nearly impossible any third party contender can enter the debates. How we can go around the world destroying regimes because we claim they are not democratically elected when in our own country the political system is a totalitarian two party system? The idea this is even plausible is ridiculous! The good news is this year more than any other the American voters have started to demand that all the candidates voices be heard from. Now if only the CPD will listen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The danger to the Demopublicans is that if the debates are opened Americans will actually see candidates with backbone! Candidates, men and women, who are not only charactered but people who want to LEAD this country. Right or Wrong. Not the spineless candidates the Demopublicans field. I wish Ralph Nader would win the Whitehouse even though I oppose a lot of the things Nader believes in, at least he's a leader, a man with backbone. Where are those people in the two parties? In Washington? Two names come to my mind and only two. Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul. Both of which had strong followings in their bid to win the nomination of their respective parties. Even though the media completely ignored them and their parties considered them fringe candidates. Dr. Paul especially connected with a large percentage of the Republican base. Why? Because Dr. Paul is a leader not a politician. Dr. Paul is much like Barry Goldwater he knows what he believes and he fights for it. Leadership like that is exactly what this country needs. Imagine if the debate was opened up to all the candidates. Nader might give Obama a run for his money in California and Washington, Barr might give McCain a run for his money in Neveda or Idaho, and it might be a free for all in Ohio! This kind of election would be great for everyone. It would ensure that every party pick a candidate that would have backbone and uphold the parties platform. Candidates with moral backbone to do as they promised. Our founders understood the importance of the State not interfering with the Church. The Church in America realized the danger of a Church gaining the power of Government. Many Christians had come to America to escape the "State Church" taxes and religious political coercion of Europe. This Separation has proven to truly allow America to be a religiously free country. I would like to argue that this nation should also embrace the ideology of Separation of State and Business. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:130%;"&gt;People love the idea of State rule over business. It makes them feel safe. They must realize this is a false sense of security. There must be a separation of State and Business. For the good of both. One could even make a case that for the success of both they should be separate. Elitist control the US government, the military complex is making money hand over fist in our current "war on terror". The business and banking lobbyist whispering in the ears of our current governing rulers is easily evident. Government 'oversight' and 'control' of business quickly results in business controlling government. Once business realizes government control they buy politicians, for business will never allow control to slip from their grasp. This process quickly reduces government to corruption. To control by big corporations, and the financially elite of our society. Wrestling control of government to themselves and away from the people. These corporations move for even more government control of business, causing more red tape, and restrictions ensuring their cartel will never be broken. They will continue to allow capitalism, to a certain degree, so that they can continue making money. I think this is the current state of the government in the US. This system is broken and must be fixed.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:130%;"&gt;This form of government will eventually embrace Socialist policies such as welfare, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;healthcare&lt;/span&gt;, public education and other government handouts. These programs eventually will be used by corrupt government to continue to prop up the cartels formed by the businessmen and elitist who control the government. These government institutions are the final nail in the coffin for these corporations. They make it impossible to topple their monopoly and power. They are nailing Capitalism to the cross of decay. The American dream to the cross of slavery. In a Socialist society people become lazy and therefore complacent. America is hanging on the verge of this most damning catastrophe.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:130%;"&gt;The solution to this problem is returning back to &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Laissez&lt;/span&gt;-&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;faire&lt;/span&gt; Capitalism, following the Austrian and Chicago Schools of economics. If government involvement in business is eliminated, business will have no reason to be in government. Control of government could be returned back to the people. Democrats and many Republicans would immediately play the fear card of uncontrolled business and banking! They would tell of the dangers of a Free Market and warn of huge Monopolies. If I could just point to the fact in the US today there are more monopolies and cartels than there ever were in the days before we had all the government regulations. Power companies, oil refineries, and phone companies are great examples of the kind of monopolies the current government red tape has caused. It doesn't work. Capitalism does work. The Industrial Revolution, the first 130 years of our country, Capitalism does work. Barack Obama and John McCain are almost one and the same. They bicker over the smallest issues and try to &lt;em&gt;appear&lt;/em&gt; different for the sake of getting votes. The past week it was very apparent how similar the two are economically. Both candidates chose to vote for the Bailout. Both want more regulation in response to this 'crisis'. Foriegn Policy is also the exact same for both candidates. McCain will get the Right's vote, because just as Bush espoused, he's&lt;em&gt; &lt;/em&gt;for physical responsibility, smaller government, and morally leans to the right. Even though the Republicans always play this card, they do nothing. They controlled both houses of Congress, and the Whitehouse, yet we saw no change in any of the moral laws. Except partial birth abortion ban. Yet these, in many cases, religiously duped people will show up and vote for McCain. Obama will bring more socialist change to the US but he will be severely crippled in these policy decisions because of the $850+ Billion dollar bailout. When the two candidates debated in Mississippi it was a national disgrace. Not one major policy was debated, the whole debate was just a congeniality contest. Both Obama and McCain will bring more of the same ignorant leadership that has led this country since WW2.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bob Barr, the Libertarian Candidate for President is the only candidate that will start to move America back in the right direction. Bob Barr will abolish the Dept. of Education, effectively destroying the monopoly the government has over Education. Barr is for starting troop withdraws from Iraq and against permanent bases. He is also against the US funding of the Iraq government and economy. Bob is for securing the Borders, for the 2nd Amendment, against FISA and Patriot Acts. Barr is also against Immanent domain. Bob Barr is America's only choice in 2008. He would bring the kind of change we truly need. Not the same political non-sense the Demopublicans are throwing in the face of the American people. California is now asking the Federal government to help them meet their budgets. &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;They're&lt;/span&gt; broke. Schwarzenegger will &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;receive&lt;/span&gt; blame for this but it's not completely his fault. California is exactly where a state will end up when it follows progressive/socialist policies. California has a 2.3 Billion dollar public education budget. Physical responsibility is the only way to manage finances. You can only spend what you have! California missed that memo and obviosly they are now going to have to pay for it. Or at least the American taxpayer is going to. America should be weeping today. It is truly Black Friday. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:85%;"&gt;Who is next inline? How many people are we going to bailout? Why not the auto industry? Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, all are reporting defaults on loans and are losing money. Shouldn't we help these great symbols of American industry? Why not the Credit Card industry? God know's they have made horrible decisions and many of their customers struggle to make payments and default on the amount owed. Can the American people live without Mastercard? Not if this country listens to Bush, the majority of the media, Senate, Congress, McCain or Obama. I'm now completely convinced Bush is trying to rape this country before he leaves office. We seem to have elected the 74 dumbest US citizens to the Senate. Congress provided a classic example of how money truely talks. I want to thank Senator John Tester from MT for having the moral courage to vote against the Bill. On today's vote in Congress I want to thank Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, and Dennis Rehberg for voting against this bill. Credit must be given to Congress, the 171 members who voted against this bill, thank you from an American citizen. This crisis proves even more the complete lack of leadership or competency held by either the McCain or Obama campaigns. Bob Barr released a statement today condemning the Bailout plan. Todays actions remind Patriots of the serious situation we find ourselved in. Lehman Brothers filed Chapter 11, AIG borrowed $85 Billion from the Federal Reserve, Merrill Lynch lost $8.4 Billion and was sold to Bank of America, and IndyMac the US's largest mortgage lender collapsed July 11, 2008. The Dow Jones fell 778 points or 6.9% in one day. The Media and Politicians quickly called this "one of the greatest economic crisis" in our nations history. I think the entire debate the entire media coverage has been nothing but a blame game and doomsday rant, respectively.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:85%;"&gt;Washington's first response to this crisis was to play their favorite hand, the blame game. Democrats blamed George Bush and the Republicans for neglecting the signs of the oncoming doom. Democrats were quick to point out Republicans had failed to create more Federal Oversight to monitor the Subprime Mortgage's. Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain claimed he foresaw the problem. Apparently he never introduced any legislation to try and solve the problem. Republicans were also quick to point to the Democrats as being the party at fault. Democrats now control both houses and did nothing, even as the crisis loomed on the horizon. Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama also claimed he foresaw this crisis years ago, but just as McCain, did nothing to prevent it. The National Media was quick to jump on board and claim the economy was hinging on depression. Their answer was to jump whole hearted behind the Bernanke/Paulson/Bush $700 Billion dollar economic bailout plan. The Media showed no mercy in attacking the House for showing a lack of leadership for not immediatly passing the Bailout. Washington showed a complete lack of leadership and the national media once again proved their socialist and progressive leanings by misrepresenting this situation and attack capitalism. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:85%;"&gt;I want to quickly explore the reason there is a financial crisis. The Subprime Mortgage crisis is most simply put the direct result of stupid business practice. If a person can only afford a $200,000 house and the banks give them low interest rates and loan them $500,000 this isn't a government problem this is a illogical business practice. Freddie and Fannie were knowingly lending to people who couldn't afford a housing loan. They were encourage by liberal/progressive/socialist lobbying groups. This kind of unsound business practice will never be successful. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:85%;"&gt;Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Speaker of the House, gave a speech before the House voted on the Bailout bill in which she unashamedly attacked Capitalism and the Free Market. She made claims that a Free Market without regulation is a dangerous thing. It was an attack on Laissez-faire Capitalism. How can she honestly argue that government dabbling in business brings any positive results? Fannie and Freddie are in fact government sponsored enterprises. They Failed because when government gets involved with business and the markets the result will always be corruption.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:85%;"&gt;Finally the progressive/socialist/ are pointing to this crisis as the end all proof that Free Markets and Capitalism do not work. Pelosi made a comment in her speech to the effect that in our system the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Am I the only one who finds this comment absurd? Absurd because she's the one trying to pass a $700 Billion dollar bailout to keep the companies afloat! Not to help the American taxpayer but the business. Mrs. Pelosi, in Capitalism when a company fails government doesn't inject it with money to keep it from filing for bankruptcy.
