Health Care Reform In Trouble!

"A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government." Edward Abbey

Good news!!
It seems as though the Health Care Bill may have difficulty advancing. I expect it will pass, eventually, at least some form of the bill. If the Public Option gets defeated however that would be a very positive point especially after the DNC leaders on the Hill want it so much. It would be a sound defeat of the socialist's pushing this "reform" so hard.

One major issue is Senate Democrat's hate Congress's plan to pay for health care and Congressional Democrat's don't like Senate's plan. Either way taxes are raised. If Senate waters down the Abortion language in the bill Pelosi could lose at least ten votes if not more "blue dog" Democrats. The Senate version of the bill also cuts $300 billion in Medicare. Many Progressive's on Capitol Hill are upset with the White Houses deal with Drug-Makers and they want to force drug manufacturer's to sell the government drugs for discounts. Obama's campaign promise that health care reform would not add to the deficit is also obviously out the window. Forty Democrats say they will not vote for the bill if the current language stays as harsh on the Government not paying for abortion so once again it's really a lose lose for Pelosi in Congress.

Regardless there are other things in the bill that I'm not even going to talk about, other issues where Democratic infighting is going to distract and divide. Meanwhile Republicans, presenting a unified front pointing out tax hikes, and high cost of the program are slowly chipping away at the fringes.

Overall debate is going to be heated and probably take a while. Meaning we, in all likelihood will not see a bill get passed until the spring. The longer it takes Democrats to vote on the issue the longer I think the idea of the bill will sour with the American people. Unfortunately for Democrats if this bill comes out, and isn't good it will not reflect well on Obama especially considering he is now looking at unemployment in the double digits. I believe all of these things combined could make for an interesting third party candidate hopefully one that will hold fast to the principles of Liberty!

Your's in Liberty,
